Harper & Row, New York, 1981
First American Edition.
Octavo. Original black boards titled in gilt to spine, publisher's colophon to front board in blind. Light wear to head of spine, spotting to top edge, one or two minor marks to boards, upper half of spine slightly rolled. A very good copy in a similar dust jacket which has a small closed tear to the top edge of the upper panel, a few nicks and creases to extremities, and toning to the top edges of flaps. Overall an excellent copy.
Presented by Ted Hughes, Plath's husband, to his friend Roy Davids on the front free endpaper, "For Roy with love from Ted November 7th '81". A superb association.
In 1982 Plath became the first poet to win a Pulitzer Prize posthumously for the Collected Poems.
