Martin Booth on behalf of Frances Horovitz Benefit, 1983
Narrow octavo. Stiff blue sewn wrappers, titles to upper cover in maroon. A fine copy.
Limited to 50 numbered copies, this being number 5, signed by all ten contributors including Heaney, Ted Hughes, Peter Redgrove, and Charles Tomlinson. An ordinary edition of 500 copies was also published in grey wrappers without the contributors' signatures.
Tenfold was published to coincide with a reading given at the Colston Hall in Bristol. Heaney's poem, Song of the soul that delights in knowing God by faith (from the Spanish of St John of the Cross), was later collected with revisions in Station Island (1984).
